Hermés Installation by Tokujin Yoshioka

Although this was blogged about a lot last month, this really needs a post.
This is a window display By Tokujin Yoshioka for the Hermés store in Tokyo. The installation went on display at the end of November and is up until the end of January (10). Tokujin's work slips between design (in the broadest sense) and art; a lot of his work is considered as 'art' for its innovation, yet sits very comfortably as product design, furniture, installation etc. Tokujin designed under Issey Miake for a long period and has also produced some very innovative work for other companies in a variation of disciplines. Issue 9 of Kilimanjaro came out on Friday, entitled 'I Love We' - Apparently this is going to be the last issue of the magazine, which if true, seems a real shame. The new issue comes in a black and white printed cardboard box and there is really something great about the photo printed on the back, it seems to help make the issue into more of an object. Definitely have a look through the new issue if you see it about. Kilimanjaro is art directed by Olu Michael Odukoya, and this issue was designed by Hannes Gloor & Stefan Jandi

Fantastic Man put up their new website today, in time with the release of their new issue which came out on Monday. The new site has introduced sections including The Forum, The Look and the Daily Recommendation, which gives something more than the magazine, allowing interaction. There are some real nice stories in the new issue: There's great photography in the City Suits article, and there's also something real nice about the story on Steak. The new issue also showcases a pre-introduction to the anticipated 2010 release of the publication 'the gentlewomen'.

More Than A Game: LeBron & Le Grand Palais

As part of his world tour, titled "More Than A Game", 2009 NBA MVP LeBron James was recently in Paris for the conclusion of a youth basketball camp which took the form of a tournament and dunk contest in Le Grand Palais. The building—originally meant to serve as a temporary exhibiton space for the Exposition Universelle of 1900 (a World's Fair)—still exists after a century of sporadic use(s), obligatory renovations, and demolition plans (RE: Le Corbusier). Since its construction, the interior has seen various exhibitions which act as showcases of static objects and new technologies; from artworks to automobiles to aircrafts and agriculture—though, from what it seems, the space has rarely allowed a sport to frame its architectural program. In this way, the structure—frequently used for salons of mundane, pedestrian inventions and presentations of bourgeois, cultural products—finds an new, active/animated purpose. Coincidentally, basketball was invented the same decade that Le Grand Palais was constructed, and one could even say that the performance of this distinctly American act in this iconic French space culturally links these two countries in the same manner the Exposition Universelle of 1900 had originally aimed to. IDEA BOOKS

Idea Books is a fantastic pop-up book shop in London that sells classic design, photography, fashion and culture magazines and books. It's such an interesting place to visit; there's a great deal of iconic fashion/design publications to look through that just don't get seen all in one place that often. Idea books is owned by David Owen and Angela Hill, who also supply books to Dover Street Market and Colette. It opened on June 1st and closes in a weeks time on August 27th. Open till 10pm everyday except Sunday and Monday. Definitely worth a visit if you're around London next week.

Grown-Up or Out-Grown?

There is an indictment laced with trepidation attached to the Dave Eggers scripted "Away We Go". Where his nuance and spectacle may lend itself perfectly to the script for Where The Wild Things Are, his script for this Apatow-esque scenario risks being over-egged (sorry). The brilliance, often in the literal sense, of his writing, loses it's sparkle when rendered in front of us. In his confidently layered books scenes are built and timed perfectly, each element revealed to have been part of a constant stream of expectation and punchline. With description taken away from him, Eggers is forced to cut to the chase, leaving the script feeling like a slightly desperate series of leaps from gag to gag, with none of the intermediate craft.
The subject matter too- a comfortably hip indie pair facing pregnancy, surrounded by witty and diverse friends and a road trip thrown in between- hardly instills confidence. A patchwork of indie blockbuster plots of the past Apatow/Rogen indie-not-indie resurgence make this seem like a clumsy Juno for grown-ups. Rather like wrapping the Harry Potter books in adult covers, this seems essentially unnecessary, as do the over-familiar cartoon graphics used for the promotional material. Maybe there's another side; to have reached production certain sacrifices are essential, and if marketing it as the new Juno is what it takes to get people into theatres, so be it, though it's a lazy tactic to stomach.
The trailer gives fuel to both fires- only the film itself will reveal how Eggers and Mendes' work has taken shape; here's hoping subtlety prevailed.

One's Castle

Ursula Meier's directorial debut "Home" is on limited UK release at the moment, and rather remarkable. The summer in film has so far been dominated by big hitters: the layered, slathering creature that was Von Trier's Antichrist; Sunshine Cleaning, twee and generic despite the gore; anticipation for the talent bohemoth of Where The Wild Things Are. Refreshing in the least then to find a French-language gem in their midst, set in a family home on the side of a super-highway suddenly opened to the public. Concerned only with a family's plight in the face of this intrusion, the film manages to span a vast range, each aspect as perfect as it is carefree. The refreshment comes in no small part from the realism achieved: no laden set-ups, no clumsy leaps of faith required, just an open and wonderful story. Isabelle Huppert was right to jump at the opportunity to star, and the three children each achieve that most hallowed of goals- engaging, lovably weird kids that never grate. High praise indeed.

Have a look at the trailer here, it's embarrassingly short and does the film no justice but should serve to further interest at least. It was out in the UK on August 7th, so check for local showings- it's already been out in the US so keep an eye out for repeats.

There is certainly little need for the introduction of this young British photographer. Stephen Gill has been making work in and around London, specifically around the Hackney/Bethnal Green area, over the last 10 years. He has recently been making a body of work in the Caribbean. The images I have shown, taken from his newest publication '44 Photographs, Trinidad', are beautifully inquisitive. They seem to deny information and map a personal journey of experience through an unfamiliar environment. See the series here.

Lars Stoten's label Mjölk, with Danish roots replanted in Brooklyn, produces mind expanding collections on a regular. Grazing the boundaries of common sense, this is design at it's most succesful- complete acknowledgement of what people are actually wearing, while remaing utterly original. Not for Lars the delusional couture bubble. Can't wait to see the F/W line shot properly for their site; in the meantime Mademoiselle A Paris have a Flickr set to peruse.

Swedish Horror Drama; not exactly something you're going to be running to the cinema to catch, however im so pleased i managed to see a re-run of this absolute beast of a film! Directed by Tomas Alfredson and based on the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the films screenplay. This film captures the sheer beauty of the Swedish setting. Literally every single shot in this film is outstanding, the compositions, colours and actors are just perfect. Words can't describe how incredible this film actually is, so go watch it! Structure studies II

These maquettes by keenley projects are an intelligent, architectural progression from their "boxes in the clouds study", yet sustain a similar spirit of wonder (spectacle?). As noted on their site, the designs take a cue from indigenous shelters—almost certainly those found near coastlines and river valleys—but also recall the inventive structures postulated by ("radical") architecture groups of the 1960s and 70s such as Archigram, Ant Farm, and most evidently: Superstudio. Interestingly, where many of these groups focused their interests around urbanism, it seems that keenley projects would ultimately expect these structures to be implemented in a more rural setting, and perhaps, as suggested by their text, in a manner more in alignment with pleasure than practicality. It would be nice to see these studies expanded as renderings with interior imagery, though they are continually fascinating in their present, quiet-and-simple state. Sweatshirt is a "multiple" by Chris Lipomi produced in association with split/fountain/Michael Lett. The garment is outfitted with a single/centered/riveted hole which, when held away from the body, will create a personal camera obscura. I assume that intimate, ephemeral projections could be captured by converting the shirt into a pinhole camera—though, either way, Sweatshirt is a fascinating object, which looks highly entertaining! I have recently found out about this photographer through this month's 'Photoworks' magazine. His most recent series of images, 'Anomalies' have an air of ambiguity and aquire a bizarre typography - much of the series relies on the graphical and aesthetic relationship between one another. The use of black and white film with flash seems to isolate the subject, taking them out of the context of their specified environment. His work relates to another artist featured in the publication - Clare Strand.

Fjord is an expansive collective of (very) young photographers producing work predominantly for the internet, the aim being to put their work into book form and keep the medium from becoming technologically insular. Perhaps not the most groundbreaking realisation, but the carefully selected contributors are well worth checking out. Stand-out talent Gustav Gustafsson has some of the best work submitted- his own site has a more mixed bag of projects, but the Provence series is still excellent.

This pair of Oberlin College boys make some astounding music. They draw comparisons to Four Tet for their choppy, melodic style, Holy Fuck for the danceable droney repetition, and perhaps High Places for atmosphere, while sounding nothing like any of them. I just found out about this artist recently via the 'i heart photograph' blog. His work is largely based around video game culture and phenomena occurring on the world wide web. The various different projects, such as 'Kool-Aid Man in Second Life' and 'A Selection of Google Street Views' offer a new way of engaging with the programs and subvert their function, often revealing their absurdities in doing so. Also check out the trailer for his upcoming film 'Arcade Hustler' and his other projects such as 'Sleeping Shepherd Boy', which incorporates some seriously cool video-game inspired 8 bit sound tracks.

Synecdoche / Cynic Dock

Ever since the news that Charlie Kaufman was writing and directing a film to star Phillip Seymour Hoffman emerged a couple of years ago, the tension was been slowly building to the 15th of May, when Synecdoche finally lands on our shores. Cannes loved it, America was confused by it and needed an alternative title, now we get the privilege of enjoying the kind of film it's hard to imagine even getting made. Impossible to market without just relying on people's better judgement, and packing a stellar cast, it's a victory for the film industry as much as anything else. I went to the Monocle shop in Marylebone about a month ago. Marylebone is such a beautiful area, there's some real nice restaurants and independent shops in the area, I'd definitely recommend a trip if you're in central London soon. El Michael's Affair

Few covers albums impress, but there's been a recent resurgence in the odd genre. The Radiodread/ Dub Side Of The Moon releases were deservedly well praised, if a little cosy; then Dirty Projectors popped out their Black Cover tribute, played entirely from memory and giving a genuinely original spin. Now come El Michael's Affair, with their funk band Wu Tang homage Enter The 37th Chamber. Slack punnery aside, the album's incredible; more Blue Note than Mark Ronson, with barbeque anthem written all over it. They've been touring with Raekwon too, check the youtube footage.

Let It Ride became Unrivaled, and the world became a better place. Goodhood among others are championing their beautiful streetwear, including this, the aptly named mountain jacket. There may be a glut of exciting outerwear going on right now (Penfield, Cheap Monday's WKND offshoot, etc.) but the attention to detail, and that lemon lining, ram this right to the top. Shame its nearly summer- maybe the end of season sales will bring down the £475 price tag..

This video by Janna Meeus—titled ”Visiting Karel Martens”—is a very short and informal documentary of the Dutch designer and his work. In addition to his efforts towards academia (founding the Werkplaats Typografie, critiquing at Yale School of Art, teaching at the Jan Van Eyck Academie, etc.), Karel Martens has also completed quite a number of traditional projects through his independent practice. The video candidly depicts the designer as he presents and explains a selection of these projects through digital documentation, videos (in video!) and scale models.

Miranda July, video artist turned 'real' film director, hit widescale fame with Me, You and Everyone We Know back in 2005, but wrote this equally saccharine short in the same year. Enjoyable in itself, but also a reminder why forthcoming feature release 'Satisfaction', bigger in budget but equally petite in breadth, should serve as a comforting beacon on any future horizon. July's art may be too sweet to swallow at times, but her film credibility is genuinely under appreciated- get on board in time to beat the gushing lefty press her new venture will inevitably incur.

Kaugummi Books produce Nieves-style zines and irregular compilations of sometimes under-developed imagery- their recent(ish) Magazine No.4 however yields some pretty exciting photographic work. Among the most notable is Linus Bill, pictured first- a sometime contributor to both Nieves and Rollo Press, and falling just the right side of quirky minimalism. Impeccably French throughout. Next is Geoffrey Ellis, another observer of the inane and intimate but with a much more colourful, saturated approach. Finally, the marvelous Peter Sutherland, already well renowned but deserving a mention for those as yet unitiated to his glorious discoveries. Truly a man with his eyes always open, or just in the right place ALL the time. Jammy fellow. Enjoy..

'Boxed Water is Better' is a carton water company from Michigan. There's something real nice about having water in a carton like this!- It creates a very pleasing object. It's also a nice simple solution to cutting down carbon emissions, apparently reducing carbon footprint by up to 80% when compared to the out-put of producing bottled water. But to be honest it would be a lot better if we did away with packaging water altogether and just drank from the tap... Still a nice idea though.

This is some information from their site:

Started with the simple idea of creating a new bottled water brand that is kinder to the environment and gives back a bit - we found that it shouldn't be bottled at all, but instead, boxed. So we looked to the past for inspiration in the century old beverage container and decided to keep things simple, sustainable, and beautiful.

About 90% of the Boxed Water container is made from a renewable resource, trees, that when harvested in a responsible, managed, and ethical way serve as an amazing renewable resource that benefits the environment even as it's renewed. Our carbon footprint is dramatically lower as our boxes are shipped flat to our filler and filled only as demand is created, opposed to most bottled water companies that ship their empty bottles across the globe to be filled, then shipped back for consumption. The flat, unfilled boxes we can fit on 2 pallets, or roughly 5% of a truckload, would require about 5 truckloads for empty plastic or glass bottles. Our cartons can also be broken down to their original flat state, are recyclable in most areas, and will be everywhere shortly. We're also giving 20% of our profits back to the resources our product is composed of - water and trees. Not only does it simply make sense, but we really enjoy supporting water and forestation organizations as it's part of our company's ethos and way of thinking to give back and participate. All that and an over-arching focus on simple and beautiful design that compliments our brand as well as the spaces it's sold and consumed in.

The reclusive German designer, Jil Sander, is to make a remarkable fashion comeback, with a mass market, men’s and women’s collection for Uniqlo, the Japanese casualwear brand which has a chain of 765 stores around the world.
The first collection will be available for next autumn/winter and can safely be assumed to sell for a fraction of the price Sander’s designs under her name once commanded.
The extraordinary deal follows a design agreement between Fast Retailing, which owns Uniqlo, and the Hamburg-based Ms Sander’s consultancy company.
Jil Sander is one of Planet Fashion’s more enigmatic and private figures – and one of few designers to have made two debuts under her own label: Once when she founded the brand in 1973, and the second during a dramatic return, after a three-year-hiatus, when her label was owned by the Italian luxury brand, Prada.
Sander developed a global cult following among moneyed minalists in the late 1980s and 1990s for her rigorous and de luxe, considered chic.
Her design aesthetic was based on classic, luxury of cloth, determined absence of decoration, clean lines and a subdued colour palette, generally in beiges, creams, navy and black, which rarely strayed within a mile of a print. But still, her intellectual curiosity led to experimentation with highly technical fabrications from Japan and she would often surprise with a splash of bold colour.
The brand became a subsidiary of Prada in 1999, but just six months later, Sander left, in January, 2000, after reported confrontations with the Prada boss, Patrizio Bertelli, husband of Miuccia Prada.
Sander’s perfectionist approach and insistence on total control of every aspect from choice of fabric to choice of models was bound to create tensions with the volatile Bertelli, who, it was said, wanted a scaling-back on costs and a more mainstream approach.
However, after her non-compete clause had expired, Sander made a surprise return to the brand which bore her name, to the delight of international press and buyers, only to leave a second time, a year later – this time for good.
Since 2005, the Jil Sander collection has been designed by the Belgian avant-gardist, Raf Simons, whose most recent collection – for autumn/winter 09/10 – was one of the standout shows of Milan Fashion Week.
In the meantime, the Jil Sander brand was sold, in September 2008, to Onward Holdings, one of the largest Japanese multi-brand fashion conglomerates, for about US $244 million, according to Japan Marketing News. Onward Holdings, based in Tokyo, made the acquisition through its European unit, GIBO, according to the International Herald Tribune.

Green Label Sound is a music label financially supported by Mountain Dew and dedicated to publishing music (on a singles-only basis) by independent, "up and coming" artists. This video/song marks the first collaborative single they've released, which interestingly is also the first original release by Flosstradamus. Green Label Sound states that this is also the first "dance" song featuring Caroline Polachek (of Chairlift), though the title and lyrics of the song easily contribute to our reservations toward this marketing statistic (if Does You Inspire You doesn't enough already). To accompany a recent expansion and reopening of their building in La Boca (Buenos Aires), Foundación Proa commissioned Spin, a multi-disciplinary studio based in London, to produce an original branding/identity system. Ultimately, the project generated a unique typeface which references the Nicolás Avellaneda bridge—a local structure formerly engaged by Proa as an installation subject. In addition to the spectacular signage system and printed matter produced with the identity, Spin also constructed an exceptional new web interface for the institution—a component often overlooked or under-thought when completing comprehensive branding projects. Very Clever Child is a project recently commenced by Hannes Gloor & Stefan Jandl—the duo responsible for curating the latest Kilimanjaro (Issue 8). In the sophisticated spirit of haute couture and with the unfiltered sensibility of yet-to-be-refined motor skills, the label features clothing, accessories, and printed matter which bear the sometimes-strange-but-always-optimistic marks of children. With current sentiments popularizing a hand-produced aesthetic (RE: Mike Perry), the collection acknowledges not only the origin of symbology, but the inherent creativity humanity shares—in childhood, at least. Biological Journal

I was shown this by my housemate John, who took this journal for free from the Booth Museum of Natural History in Brighton.

The journal is a around a hundred pages long, published in 1979, and is such a tangible object and a really interesting read throughout. Apparently there are lots of different volumes and issues waiting in the Booth museum to be picked up for free. It is worth the trip out of town to pick one of these up and to have a look around the museum.

I came across Albam last month after stumbling across their shop when walking down Beak Street in london.

They have quite a few beautiful pieces, including the unlined dry waxed cagoule above; there's a yellow version also which is real nice. Albam are all English made clothes. You should definitely go visit their shop when your next around central London: 23 Beak Street, London, W1F 9RS.

Real people

Real People is a magazine that was published in San Sebastian in 06'.
It's published and edited by Antonio Marcarra and Gorka Sorozabal.
The magazine contains a manifesto made up of a couple of pieces of writing, translated into about 5 different languages, and then sets of photographs from different artists.
Setting up a magazine like a hardback book creates a real satisfying object; I think it's something to do with the combination of the format with the content. You open it up expecting just type and get pages of photographs.
The new issue is due out now but i haven't seen it around.
It's available from B store in London.

Most interestingly, he speaks about his agency's organic (and casually formulated) methodology of developing "visual communication" for all mediums of application—from shoes to shops to clothing, print, gallery, etc. So far, it seems to be successful—if you're ever in New York City, be sure to stop by Reed Space on the Lower East Side.

Albert Folch studio new website

Barcelona based Albert Folch studio created a new site and updated their work at the begging of last month.

The site now houses a selection of work form 2003 to present.

I Think I preferred their site before it was changed, it seemed more mature which I think suited thier work better. if you don't know their work it is definitely worth a look. Folch studio are responsible for the design of Franzine 137 and Metal magazine which are both beautiful publications.

I re-watched The Royal Tenenbaums the other day and was thinking about who did the graphic design for the items in the film. I still haven't managed to find out who does the graphic design for Wes Andersons films. I think its a really interesting job, doing design for things that only exist in a film. If anyone finds out or knows who does the design please let me know. I also watched an extra on The Royal Tenenbaums dvd 'with the film maker'- if you can get hold of the extras disc for the dvd definitely watch this, it's a really interesting insight into Wes Anderson's approach to film making.

Typotheque/Peter Biľak – History

History is a type system built by Peter Biľak for Typotheque, the design studio/type foundry he operates with his wife Johanna. The History "family" includes 21 independent typefaces which share similar measurements so that they may be combined (and recombined) by the typographer. This provides for the opportunity to create unique, hybrid typefaces which blend not only type styles, but the time periods which they represent—from renaissance to baroque to digital. To manage such an immense system, Biľak has also produced a web application titled "History Remixer" which places the type styles on an interactive platform; allowing for the typographer to combine the type styles in real time with control features of color, size, opacity, and layering. Event10 is the moniker through which Benoît Robert practices as a graphic designer—though, more-so (or rather, more recently) as an art director. I recently rediscovered Event10 through my (nearly) static del.icio.us account—after learning about him awhile back—and must say that I'm still fascinated by the simplicity, pragmatism, and refined specificity which defines his compositions. His website, in itself, is exceptionally appealing as it not only captures a breath of work completed over nearly a span of a decade, but it also often provides for behind-the-scenes-esque documentation of (photo)graphic concepts which lead to the completion of a project. Warmoesmarkt is a modest food market located in Amsterdam's red-light district which sells local (and, most often, organic) goods. The majority of the products (about 80%) come from the surrounding Dutch regions with the remainder (about 20%) coming from other various sources throughout Europe. The interior of the shop was designed by EventArchitectuur, with graphics provided by Lesley Moore and illustrations by Peter Müller. The grided display structures are provided their form by standard black shipping crates, while the (typo)graphic components acquire their compositions from the ubiquity of hole-punched A4 sheets. For me, the most noteworthy aspect of this system is the typographic detail of the counterforms, which have been assigned the size of a typical hole punch (.25"?) and which retain this size at all scales. If you're ever in Amsterdam, make sure to stop by. And if you've visited, please let us know how it is.

This is a long overdue post... B store is an incredible shop in london, based just at the begging of Savile Row, around the corner from it's previous location on Conduit street. This is by far my favorite shop in london. B store houses beautiful mens and women's fashion, including 'Peter Jensen' and their own brand 'b clothing', the store is very welcoming and has real good service. The shop constantly has artists installations in the widows and shows various works. B store is also very well known for it's footwear, it's own line b footwear creates beautiful mens and women's shoes. They also stock a few magazines, including 'Kilimanjaro' and 'Real people'.

Definitely go and have a look when your next around central London:
B store is only a five minuet walk from oxford Circus; walk down (south) Regent Street, four streets down on the right is Conduit Street, turn onto conduit street, first left off Conduit street is Savile Row, B store is a few doors down on the right.

KILIMANJARO - ISSUE 8

Issue 8: The Unofficial Artist – Caught between Visual Surrealism and Social Reality. This is the newest issue of Killimanjaro . I was really excited when this issue came out as I had been waiting for it for a while... It was definitely worth the wait. Kilimanjaro doesn't stick to any strict release pattern, but instead is released sporadically. I like to think this is because they won't release an issue until they believe it is finished.

Although there is an unknown long wait between issues it sort of adds to the excitement of the magazine, and the progression between issues seems to better and better each time. You can definitely see a real transition in the development of the magazine if you look through the Kilimanjaro archives. They produce limited run publications. Each publication features a different artists work, much like Nieves.
Posted above is 'Cederteg No2', which features photographer Nicholas Haggard. I brought this issue a little while ago, and is well worth buying if you can find it on the net somewhere. The photography is beautiful and paper stock and printing are both really satisfying. it makes for a very nice object. Cederteg also put on exhibitions in different cities, documentation can be seen on the Cederteg site. Publications that haven't sold out can be brought by emailing Cederteg through their site.

Portable Document Formats seems to be a workshop being taught by David Reinfurt this fall at Columbia University. Though it appears that it's content is intended to concentrate on architecture, the overarching concern of production and "publishing" is certainly apparent (as all things D/S). I saw this guy/gal duo of Dan Michaelson and Tamara Maletic give a talk at the SoHo Apple store a few weeks ago. I've steadily and increasingly become more interested in web design so, naturally, I'm impressed with the way they treat virtual media. Most recently, they have completed a website for Brooklyn-based, architecture studio, Solid Objectives, which is built around a WordPress back-end—making the entire website a fantastically customized blog. They are also responsible for permanently converting the Yale University School of Art website into a wiki—allowing anyone with access to the internet the capability to edit almost any of the institution's pages. For Artcity, a contemporary art festival based in Calgary, they (alongside Project Projects) produced a website which is simply a hack set on top of Google Maps. And lastly, to provide a chronologically linear presentation of Mary Ping's fashion design work, the two employed a series of scripts (some custom written) to whittle the site down into one page—all while creating a tasteful and functional portfolio. Kilimanjaro, Editor - Michael Olu Odukoya. One of my favorite magazines by far. Kilimanjaro is a visual based magazine that unfolds to 68cm x 48cm/27" x 19". Each issue has a separate theme which is summed up in a sentence or phrase, from which artists and photographers are commissioned to respond to. The theme becomes the title for that issue. Pictured above are- Issue 7: Luxury and Patronage, and Issue 6: When I was 17. Kilimanjaro are in the process of collaborating with the Walker design department to produce content for the Walker design blog. MEIRÉ UND MEIRÉ is Mike Meirés's studio based in Germany. Meiré und Meiré design 'Kid's wear' fashion and culture magazine. I first saw Kid's wear magazine in New York earlier this year, the first Issue I saw was Vol.25 Autumn/Winter 2006/2007 - the one with the yellow cover posted above. The photography and type in this magazine are beautiful, the weight of the magazine is pretty hefty and for the issue I've seen, the paper stock worked real nice with the content.
